This Saturday we'll combine our ride with a familiarisation ride for Life Cycle for CanTeen [OnRoad] (the first of three familiarisation rides).
Since these rides usually involve riders of different capacities we'll gauge how far riders want to go on the day. In the past there have typically been a couple of different groups ...different distances and speeds but usually with a common coffee stop.

**** Note - Early start due to high temperatures forecast ****
We'll do the old familiar "Friendly Freo" with the usual obligatory coffee stop (in Fremantle). We'll have the usual Maylands Railway Station start at 7:00 am then hook up at the Narrows. The ride will start from the Narrows Bridge (North Side - where the bike path goes under the freeway bridge) at 7:30 am
If I go for a ride at all on Saturday it will be early (partly because we've got guests staying with us and partly to avoid the heat) so I won't join the ride ...but who knows we might see you at coffee.

Saturday Jan 11, 2014 - Reverse Freo and Cottesloe swim

We had originally planned to do a moutain bike ride on the heritage trail but with the forecast for a scorching 44 we'll do a "reverse freo" instead, by popular request. We'll have the usual Maylands Railway Station start at 7:00 am then hook up at the Narrows (South Side). The ride will start from the Narrows Bridge (South Side - near the old Kiosk) at 7:30 am.
We'll take the bike path to Mt Henry Bridge then weave through Riverton towards Marmion Street and on towards Freo. Depending on how energetic the group is feeling we may deviate to ride up Le Souffe in Kardinya. We'll have a coffee stop in Freo (venue to be agreed) and return via Cottesloe where the plan is to have a swim.
Please bring a bicycle lock, your bathers and a towel

Bring your bathers and a towel for a swim after the ride. Fruit will be provided for the riders. Contributions welcome, with funds going to Life Cycle for CanTeen.
P.S. Francis has a spare mountain bike, it is a size “L”, if some one wants to give mountain biking a try. They are most welcome to borrow it for the day. (Contact: Francis 0403 236 439)
